The project started in the year 1999 with the purchase of lands in Baunia area adjacent to Mirpur DOHS and Uttara. In the process, the project was named as ‘Trust GREEN City’ (TGC) in Nov 2019.
Army Welfare Trust (AWT) conceived the project with the noble purpose of creating socioeconomic opportunities and at the same time to build a smart and environment-friendly small township for a healthy living. Due to the rapid expansion of Dhaka City and increasing demand of housing with essential in-house and community facilities, Bangladesh Army planned to build a state-of-the-art living area as a model for Bangladesh. The aim is to build a model living area integrating modern technology, utilities and greenery with an environment-friendly ambience having an aesthetic mix of natural and artificial exquisite.

(1) To provide an aesthetic and need based comprehensive lifestyle solution of a smart model city.

(3) To support the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Bangladesh in making cities inclusive, safe,
resilient and sustainable.
The concept is to create a micro environment which is full of naturally enhanced spaces, play areas, open green spaces, public and semipublic plazas and entertainment spaces. The design will ensure a successful combination of the natural and artificial, the private and the public.

a. Connectivity: The project will have excellent connectivity through roads and Metro stations. There will be following 5 approaches to reach the project area:
(1) Through Jashimuddin road.
(2) Through Uttara 3rd ph and MRT.
(3) Through Mirpur DOHS.
(4) Through Sagupta Housing.
(5) Through Manikdi-Jashimuddin road.
